All right, girls. I promise I’m not out to pile on, but if you’re a tidy person and it’s fun for you to find new junk to clean, you should check out our list of the most often forgotten spots in your house that still need cleaning. Or maybe you wish you were a clean person, and your success also might benefit from a few extra tips on how to keep your home more organized than Mr Clean’s grandma’ house.
Either way, we addressed some spaces in your home that are possibly icky. No matter how clean you keep your house, these places are more likely to be left unattended.
TV Remote

Research shows that the remote controller is the dirtiest thing in current homes. Even if you are just munching on hummus and veggies while binge-watching a series or watching your favourite anime, you are getting food particles on your tv remote. You might have kids who roam around the living room with dirty hands or a roommate who’s always messy. There are a million possible situations where germs gather around your tv remote. But when was the last time you thought of cleaning your remote? A simple scrub can do a lot in disinfecting your controller.
Light switches

I don’t know about you but I started cleaning my switchboard recently. And wonder what I found? Switchboards and light switches are the messiest area in your home.
You are certainly transmitting germs by touching your light switches unless you have one of those smart home system set up. Healthline.com recommends that all light switches be washed down once a week with a disinfecting cloth.
The wall behind the garbage can
Agree or not, but you were not expecting this in the list. If you can clean the rim of the garbage can and the floor, why can’t you wipe the wall behind? Your wall can also collect splatters and stains from the waste you throw.
Inside your coffee machine

The coffee maker reservoir is the fifth dirtiest place in your home. Imagine sipping your energy drink loaded with germs?
Cleaning the pot every day is not enough. The inside machine of your coffee maker carries tonnes of germs. Now the question is, how to clean the reservoir? Well, you can take out all the removable parts and hand wash them with water and a white vinegar mixture.
Trash Can

It is very important to clean your trash can once in a while. Even if you keep your can covered with a lid or put your clutter inside the junk bags, germs will find a way out. You can always use bleach and water to disinfect the bin.
Hairbrushes and Combs

Cleaning hairbrushes and combs frequently are very important. Dirty combs can make your scalp dirty and can cause hair fall and dandruff.
Washing Machine

A washing machine is used to clean clothes but what if the cleaner itself is dirty. Giving a good cleaning to your washer every now and then is good for the healthy functioning of your machine. You can use synthetic vinegar instead of liquid detergent.
Light Bulbs
Energy bulbs can become a fire hazard if you ignore them. LEDs and smart light have a longer life than old fashioned bulbs. Light bulbs need more frequent cleaning.
Pet Toys
If you love to snuggle with your pooch, you need to be extra careful about their chew toys. Cleaning your pet’s toy is very important for you as well as for them. Sterilise them in warm water and vinegar mixture. Clean your pet’s clothes or stuffed toy in a cloth bag in your washing machine.
If you are someone who loves cleaning or take cleanliness as a hobby, these spots in your home need some attention.
